STV Edinburgh conducted an interview on The Fountainbridge Show about Walking Football with Chris Sellar, Community Sports Hub Coordinator, and Billy Singh, Walking Football Development Officer for Paths for All. The segment will include a pre-recorded video of the session on Friday 18th September.
If you missed the live interview, catch up with STV Edinburgh on the STV Player.
Walking Football is an increasingly popular activity among football enthusiasts who are either too old or physically unable to play full competitive football but still want the thrill and enjoyment of taking part and being part of a club. The Hub has one regular session, which is coordinated by Heriot-Watt University Football Club in partnership with the South-West Edinburgh Community Sport Hub and SWE Adult Education. Sessions take place at Balerno High School on the new 3G surface, every Friday from 4.30-5.30pm. A number of people from the local community have taken part so far including members of Currie Crocs, a keep fit class, and a number of ex-players returning to the game after a long spell out of playing football.
