Course Overview

From 4 distinct but challenging par threes to dogleg par fours, Kingsknowe Golf Club offers a fair test of every aspect of a golfer's skills - whatever your ability level.

Originally designed by 1902 Open champion Alec Herd and later James Braid, the course is a parkland course laid out over gently rolling hills lined with cherry trees making it particularly inviting in the spring.

The course has two loops of nine from the clubhouse. The challenge is in finding and holding the well-guarded and relatively small greens.  The course comprises several tough dog-leg par 4s throughout the 18, a James Braid design feature.

Your round starts with a challenging 167-yard par 3 protected by 4 bunkers.  The picturesque 144-yard downhill par three eleventh hole, again heavily guarded with bunkers, is a feature hole but the widely regarded 460-yard par 4 16th from an elevated tee is recognised as the course’s signature hole.

You finish your round with a driveable par 4 playing towards our traditional clubhouse, where a warm welcome awaits you.
